Driftwood was conceived when suddenly an enormous post of wood rolled out of the wild sea, so very heavy with seawater, right into my path whilst walking along the coastline.

Hand carved with knife and chisel, I gently worked to wrestle the sculpture into life and form, cutting away the layers to reveal the grain, the rich chestnut colours and the natural twisted trunk.
